Just set up my modulator linkage on the 83 Wag and noticed that it does not return to stop fully when released. Checked the linkage and lubricated it but no change, it seems to originate at the tranny. There is still about 1" of movement left but does not feel like it is doing anything. Should this return under spring tension all the way to the stop? If so can the modulator be replaced with out rebuilding the valve body at the same time? Tranny seems to operate fair until full operating temp (195) then gets a bit sluggish. It is running through rad to external cooler in series. Is there any benefit to bypassing the rad and perhaps running 2 external coolers, I have a few spares. Even though I might/probably have to rebuild the tranny I am considering the coolers for the future. Does any one have a link for a 727 diagram to help with a rebuild?
