sweet.... $275 and you have a full manual th400 with 25% overdrive.

slap on an adapter ring from novak or AA and you could get a 4 speed HD auto with an AMC engine.

The shift kit alone costs us $250.00 and takes a full day to install. All of this can be yours for $2695.00. It doesn't get any better than this folks/The freight will run $140.00 to $180.00 in most cases/Racing T-shirt Free /Quadzilla Shift Kit - Full manual shifts - the transmission will be in the gear you select and changes to any gear you choose when you move the selector. No computer or wiring needed, rated at 900 + horse power and has full throttle 3-4 up-shifts. This is the Street Rod transmission of the future, as more and more people install motors with over 500 horse power. Cost $275.00 /but you still need to buy the trans and converter

Thats basically a race tranny. Way to much for the street. $2700 for a tranny is rediculous. I know where you can get a built 700R4 that will handle 500 horse, and only runs $1700, and it even shifts for you!!! smile.gif

i wasn't suggesting throwing down $2700 on a tranny, merely noting that people are finally taking an interest in the 4L80e, which is a helluva tranny

some of us would like to have overdrive someday, and this is good news ;)

for now, i have to stick to my 727

WillyPete, i think it's cool... even if all the nay sayers think otherwise. hopefully with time more people will build these trannies and the prices will drop... I know I'd like to have one in my heep, but those prices are still a little steep... like 3x's how much I paid for the Jeep initially

Hot Rod has done a few articles on the 4L80E. No doubt its one of the strongest trannies available. Its not widely availble though. GM only seems to use it in 1 ton vehicles.
