Well, I'm new to the FSJ's and also the new owner of a 83 J10. She's alittle rough around the edges but, with alittle TLC and some good wrench turning this will be one hell of a truck.
I know, GET to the point.
This is what I think I know. I have a 360,727, and I belive I have a np208 case. My problem is in the trans. It leaks baddly. Being a raised Ford guy, I would like to swap a Motor/trans combo and keep the case. I've yet to find any good info on such topics.
There is alot of info on GM swaps but, if I go that route I would like to keep as manys jeep parts as possible.
To me it looks like a 360,4L60E trans is the best bet.
Can I find a 4L60E/4L60 trans to np208 T-case or adaptor? OR....Do I have to get a new t-case?
I have found lots of 360 trans adaptor plates for many different GM and Ford trans........I just can not find a t-case adaptor.

 I'm soooooo.....wet behind the ears when it comes to Jeeps but, I LEARN FAST....
Any help would be great....Thanks

P.S. I will be using this Truck as a daily driver and for weekend towwing/4whellin up north.

If you are going F*rd why not save the cost of the adaptor (which if available is probably as much as another Tcase) and just buy a whole F*rd drive train?
460/C6/205
Anything less then a 460 and yer gonna under power a good truck. Don't worry about it being too much torque for JTruck they don't put out that much more then the AMC motors although you might feel it more down low 'cause they probably have a lil better curve. ;)

Welcome aboard.

And where up North would you be 4 wheelin? ;) If your motor is a good runner and the T-case is solid, I would just swap the trans out for a good one. No sense in fixing what ain't broke. If you have only manual shifting on your T-case for 4 Hi, 4 lo, N and 2 WD and manual locking front hubs, then its a NP208. If you have a Switch on the dash it would be a NP229. If you get up North as far as I am..........I have a good TF727. Anyhow Welcome to the Forum. :D
