Has anyone set their rig to run both. Will it be to much for pump? Is overheating the powersteering fluid an issue? I have heard one idea on it...anyone else??

Thanks

I have an old motorhome on a Chevy van chassis. It has the hydro boost brakes and steering. For those who don't know, the brakes use a belt-driven pump for assist to the brakes instead of vacuum assist. Works good on a motorhome where the engine vacuum is usually zero unless going downhill. Since the FSJ's are Delco, I think they could be rigged to fit, but what do you gain?

ThanksWith all that you will definately want to run a cooler, maybe even put in an inline filter?

My Chevy motorhome, on the G30 chassis, uses a regular Delco power steering pump like the Jeep one. It also has the Hydro-Boost power brakes that uses a belt-driven pump, rather than engine vacuum to assist braking. Needs two separate pumps because steering fluid is in one and brake fluid is in the other. The engine compartment has several warnings about putting the wrong fluid in each. Unless I'm missing something, you can't use one pump for both steering and brakes. Or do people want to use the Hydro-Boost to run their steering since it is a bigger pump?

So far the people I've seen running the hydroboost use the stock steering pump to run both the brakes and steering. The fluid from the pump shouldn't ever get into the actual brake lines, it's just a booster similar to the vacuum one.

That sound right?

if you've ever had the pleasure of driving a G30 with HB and stepped on the brakes and turned the steering wheel at the same time....I would most definetely look into one of them there AGR pumps, as far as cooling just go junkyard shopping, newer Dodge Ram trucks, and Ford trucks, all have little P/S coolers from the factory, grab em up intall them in the return line, have fun

Jeff...how have you been?

I haven't been back to your neck of the woods for a while. How are you coming on your rig?

You gain more braking power with less effort with the Hydroboost. Its an upgrade for stopping big tires as well.

Crazy Jeepman, my G30 is a dually, but only 20 feet long. About the same as a Caddy. The braking is fantastic. Did you put the Hydro-boost on an AMC or did you put the Caddy engine in a Jeep? Either way, I'd like to see a picture.

In the process of putting a Caddy in both my J10 and Cherokee. They will both have the HydroBoost setups I scavenged off the parts donors. Pics will be taken. ;)
