I'm new to FSJ - just bought an 83 Cherokee that has been sitting for nearly 4 years. I was able to drive it home, but it hasn't started since. There doesn't seem to be any fuel getting to the carb. I've replaced the fuel filter, and have a new fuel pump ready to go in, and plan to change out the fuel lines and clean the fuel tank. Is there anything else I need to take a look at?

DON'T SET YOUR FSJ ON FIRE,BUT WHY NOT PULL THE LINE TO THE CARB TO SEE IF IT'S PUMPING GAS!!

Probably should have mentioned that engine fires when a few drops of gas are addedd to the carb.

A little cool for mid-May...Carb looks OK, I'm not a mechanic, but I'm trying. smile.gif
Thanks for the questions back to me! It keeps me from jumpimg ahead of myself.
You might drain the tank and start with fresh gas. There may be some water in it after sitting for that long. I'd also look at the filter/sock at the fuel pickup in the tank. Especially if your state was one that ran that MBT, MTB(?) or whatever stuff in winter gas...it has a nasty side effect of melting the sock :(
On an 83 there's an access cover for the sending unit behind/under the back seat. Be careful drilling out the rivets though. The plastic fuel tank is directly below the panel.
