I installed the TFI a while ago with no problems...so I thought... until I went down to visit Porkchop.
It seems there are different adapters for the larger cap... Porchops has an alignment tab which holds the adapter (spacer) in one spot to the dist. housing... in other words it won't twist.
Mine is only held in place by the spirng clamps on the sides... you can twist (rotate) the cap and adpter and alter the timing...
Anybody else have this same flawed adapter?
I'm going to look for another adapter!!!
BTW--- this was from Autozone...

I have the same adapter, but mine has the little tab that is screwed in on the side. I did buy a new dist. and it did not have the tab, so I swapped it over. Looks to me to be a part I would like to have.

I got mine from Summit and it has the tabs to keep from spinning. I guess a little steep at $25, but decent salvage yards are an hour away and I figure with the cost of gas and getting 12MPG, why not.
Duct tape can temporarily fix your problem.

My $2 salvage yard special adapter has the tab to hold it. As I recall it is a ford adapter so maybe try your local ford dealer. You could silicone it to the distributor...

I think you need this one? it has a slot on the bottom. I got this pic out off Irbob's Wed Site.

I printed out the article from the tech library, and took that with me for the correct part nos. My cap doesn't rotate, and the adapter is also stationary.
In fact, the next thing I need to upgrade, are the spark plug wires. I'm using the stock Ford wires for a F-350, with a 460 engine. The fit is right, but I don't think the quality is all that good. I'll be switching to a set of Taylor Spiro-Pro wires.
