First and foremost, a HUGE thanks to Elliot for the use of the towbar that allowed me to get it home.
Not too bad for $450. A new gas tank and front driveshaft and a little going over under the hood and she's good to go. It's a shame that the PO cut off the WT flares and painted the inside of the rear windows windows black.
Ta da!!

Wow! I need a tow bar like that...or a really nice trailer!

Looks like a nice rig.
I agree about the flares.
A person might could get around the fenders with another set fenders, but those rear flares may be more difficult.

His truck cost half what that towbar costs new, not that I bought it new... ;) They really are sweet (Falcon). You definately got your money's worth there, even if you just wanted the tires. To get the paint off the windows just use a razor blade scrapper. ...and thank you for stopping by just when I was trying to get that big lock ring back on the NV4500 shaft, two more hands really made the differance.
Oh yeah, get a pic and length of the front driveshaft you need and I'll see if I have a match here.

After using that tow bar, I would definitely recommend one like it to anyone that runs across one. Glad I could lend a hand with that ring, like I was saying, that is the entirety of my transmission experience! Had to have one rebuilt on the Yukon 4 days after I bought it after a CHICKEN flew up out of the ditch and smacked me right in the middle of the front grill (pre grill guard) and destroyed: AC condenser, tranny cooler, radiator, grill, and ultimately (about 5 miles later), the transmission because of a tiny leak on a fitting on the cooler. D@mned chicken.
But anyway, thanks again for the bar! If you ever need a hand with anything else I'd be happy to help out. Not too far down the road at all.
And thanks for everyone's else's compliments. It ain't gonna be the prettiest full size on the road, but the price was right! Thinking it might get a chop job at some point...

Also, thanks for that too! I'll let you know when I get the measurement and see what I come up with.

looks like the PO took their time to take the rear flares off, unlike mine which are just hacked off:mad:
BTW, nice jeep.

There is some kind of rubber molding that he screwed over the edge and threw a coat of black spray paint on it. Depending on what I can find to fit, it's going to get some kind of flare. Whether or not it's an XJ or something I throw together myself, who knows at this point.

i wonder if someone has a bushwacker flare from an xj to loan me to see if they would fit on my jeep or not,
when my dad bought my jeep, he said that it had either 35's or37's on a stock susp, but the rear flares were trimmed...

Aw c'mon now man, I learned all I know on a baby Jeep! I think the YJ may be a little jealous of all the attention that the older, bigger brothers are getting. Still can't beat top and doors off cruising in the summer :D
