My wag needs a tune-up and I was thinking about going with a TFI upgrade when I do, then I started wondering about an Election Ignition. I am not talking about a Jacobs but a Mopar EI (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1849795157&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=1029374177&indexURL=0&rd=1) Can I get some opinions, pros and cons.

You've got an '89 Grand Wagoneer, right? It already has an electronic ignition (hence the ignition module).
You've got the Duraspark ignition system that uses the Motorcraft distributor. So... a Ford cap adapter, V-8 cap & rotor, and TFI coil in a little sheet-metal bracket that you can make with tin-snips, some new plugs wires, re-gap the plugs to .050" and you'll be ahead of the game without breaking the bank.
If you feel you must buy it off E-Bay, look under "juice-box". The guy that sells those basically gets all the parts together in a package and makes his profit for the convinience of not needing to know a bunch of part numbers or vehichle applications
What was the question again?
If you want a really, really long, drawn-out and detailed explanation of the TFI system, I can dig up TeamRush's post on the ORC SWB forum and paste it here for you all to read.

The AMC 360 and the Mopar 360 are completly different engines. The Ebay link was for a mpoar engine.

That is interesting Chris, I asked him if it would fit in my '90 GW and he said yea?? I don't know enough of the tech issues, that's why am asking.
Sycho15, I have all the TFI info. If you go the the tech section Irbob has artical with links to the teamrush one, good stuff. Ok, how swift am I? I have replaced that module.
I have a '90. (went back and updated that info)

To many people make the assumption that since Mopar is building Jeeps these days, the 360 is a Mopar engine. Keep this in mind......the only thing mopar in pre 91 FSJ's is the Transmission internals, it is a TF727 however it is in a AMC case.

It is fairly simple to use a Mopar (Standard Motor Products LX101) Ignition box in place of the Motorcraft unit that's there now. I converted my CJ mostly to save money on replacements as the Mopar box is 1/2 the cost of the Motorcraft one. Plus I'm really a Mopar guy at heart and it just felt right.
