Can someone tell me where the drain hole's are for the cowl. Where do they drain out? Mine must be clogged because i have water coming in the P/S vent. I removed the cowl and sucked out all kinds of crap. I then stuck a air hose all the way down to where i could see it thru vent. Blew alot more crap out but still leaks thru vent. They must drain somewhere right? Thanks

If your Jeep is like mine was (and a lot of other guys' around here), you need to remove the vents inside the cab and dig around and pull a bunch of crap out. The drain is between the fender and the cab, or something like that.

Here's an illustrated guide I put together. Someday I'll revamp it. Right now it takes forever to load. Hope it helps.

Just did this in my '88 GW. Ya gotta take off the vents and pull out the ducts. The airbox has a drain hole at the bottom of it right below the vent. It clogs easily and then you got water pouring in thru the vents. I vacced the bottom of the box out and freed the drain hole with a screwdriver. I also covered the cowl intake (on top of the hood at the winshield) with chicken screen to prevent any leaves from clogging the airbox.

I found a few square feet of factory carpet stuffed in the drain well on mine!!!

Ralph posted some great pics last year on this. He had taken the fenders off, and you could see the entire assembly for the cowl.

If somebody saved these, they would be a great addition to the Tech section.

Before I take the vents off, I'm gonna attempt to bend a coat hanger and reach the drain

I don't have those pictures any more. The drains are underneath the front fenders. If you look at the photo Crazy Jeepman is currently posting in his sig, you can barely make out where the drain is in the bulkhead.

You have to get underneath the vehicle and reach up with a coathanger or something to get into the drain holes.
