4 HI locked

Hey all,

I'm getting my front driveshaft extended and balanced and it won't be done till Monday.

I'm driving in 4Hi Locked (NP219). How fast can I drive before I start doing damage, and how long can I drive it in 4HiLk'd?
I have a 300 mile road trip and thinking I may just scrap the whole trip until I have the driveshaft back in.

hmmn, i never tried this with the 219 in my 81. does it make any funny noises when you drive it?

I dont think it would hurt it any. I have driven at like 65mph before with my t-case in 4wd, although its a dana20. I have also driven it in upwards of 70 with no rear driveshaft, just FWD.

So I would think so long as its good on fluid, it should be just fine.

It used to make funny noises... like crazy driveline vibrations.

Seems to run smooth as silk in 4 Hi LK. I'm just afraid to take it over 45mph.
