To clutch or not to clutch, that is the question.

I have a Buick 350 that currently has no fan clutch. The fan is connected directly to the water pump output shaft with a spacer between.

I just bouht a fan clutch to install, but then I find out I will also have to buy a new fan that will attach to the clutch. No one within 50 miles has the fan that I need.

Your opinion, should I get the new fan and install the clutch, or should I just stick with the setup that is on it and save myself $100.

Are you having any overheating problems? A good fan clutch is better for water crossings, etc... but if this doesnt apply and you arent having cooling problems I would leave it alone for now. However, I do prefer a fan clutch for my motors.
