My 68 wag with 350 Buick seems to run hot all the time. I read in the manual there is supposed to be a T vent somewhere on the manifold to prevent overheating when idling. Anybody have a pic or diagram so that I can hook it back up? Also where does the T-Vent go?. From the manifold to ?????

Is it overheating, or is it showing hot on the gauge?
Back in the late '60's early 70's the owners of Commandos complained about the alleged overheating, the gauge running up past the middle. There was no problem, it was just the location of the temp sensor in the system. It showed an accurate water temp.
In response to this, they (Jeep) moved the sensor to another position, where it was then at the coolest part of the system. Then the Jeep would run what people thing was cold.
One of the locals had a '71 Commando and didn't like the low reading. He fixed it (during the winter) by placing a cardboard in front of the radiator. He got the gauge where he wanted it, also blew the head gaskets and spent almost $400 fixing it.
Check the water temp with an accurate meter first.
