The Lexus powered J20 project is progressing at full throttle - the engines all done and running, brakes rebuilt and working, front panels & bumper on, lights all fitted, onboard air working, deck on & tipping, 36" swampers ordered etc We only have a couple of minor issues now:

#1 The new V8 seems to be making too much vacuum for the brakes - you only need to touch the pedal and it flies down virtually unaided.

Dunno what happened there, anyway, to continue...

We were thinking about putting a restrictor in the vac line, any other sugestions? - a stronger spring maybe?

#2 The 12V hydraulic pump we have tipping the deck is painfully slow, is there any provision for a PTO on either the NP 208 tcase or the T18A trans we have?
If so where would we find / how could we make one in NZ where there aren't many large US vehicles to scavenge bits off?

I don't believe the '80+ T-18s had a place for a PTO, and the NP208 I know does not. Your best bet would probably be to find an engine mounted hyrolic pump. I wouldn't know where to look but I've seen one before running a plow setup, worked pretty slick. It just bolted on like an accesory and ran off a fan belt.

Good luck,
