PAINT CODE LOCATION

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THE PAINT CODE IS EXACTLY ON A 1987 J-20. DOES ANYONE HAVE A 1987 COLOR CHART?

Its on the VIN tag under the hood. Go to www.paintscratch.com (http://www.paintscratch.com) and you should be able to find your correct paint code and color.

OK I figured this out. If you want your paint code look at the firewall tag that is located on the driver's side top just behind the power brake booster. The top numbers are the Vehicle Identification Number, there are lower numbers starting from the inside out. The first 2 numbers are the paint code . In my case is it " 2D " for midnight blue.

i looked in a book i have for paint options for your rig. no luck. dont realy matter i see you got what you needed. however i did come across a some other little tid bits of info. you have the last year j truck and they only made 639! you may not find it as interesting as i did. then again you may:D

I thought that too but a few people tell me that there were 1988 J trucks.

Late model Full Size Jeep trucks were produced in very small numbers. Less than 2000 per year by 1985. Chrysler purchased AMC/Jeep in late 1987 and immediately ended production of the J-series trucks. It is unclear how many were produced as 1988 models, but most believe it is fewer than 150.
