Can someone explain the operation of the CTO valves in terms of temperature. My waggie is running like crap- stalling at 3/4 throttle- and i have vacuum going to the dizzy and the vapor canister and the egr valve at odd times (like idle, cold motor). I bypassed the CTOs, hooked the dizzy up straight to the port, advanced the timing a little, and it runs great.

Me to, I had mine running from manifold and it wanted to stall when stepped on, but on ported it runs fine but starts harder. The cto sends manifold vac to dizzy to advance spark while cold, when warmed up the cto switches to ported so the vac advance is in sync with your foot (so to speak). When you step on it you lose manifold for a second hence the stumble. so you would have manifold vac, ported vac and dizzy hooked upto cto. could be you had the manifold and ported switched on the cto.
