tranny bands?

ok kinda stupid i know but i haven't found this anywhere. Where and or how do you tighten the bands in the tranny?Th-400 second gear just feels slippy and i think this might be it. It usally just shifts right to third after not doing much in second.Like around 20-30 mph. But Even if i shift mannually through the gears second still feels weak.

no adjustment on the th400's and mine is doing the same as yours. so we both will need help.

I do not know a lot about Transmissions but that sounds like it could be the Modulator valve. It is a Vac pot on the pass side above the pan right behind the dipstick tube on the transmission, check that you have vacumn to the hose that hooks to the modulator then possibly replace the Modulator. Someone with more expertise could maybe give more info on this.
