rear feul tank

I am considering installing a feul tank ing the rear(spare tire) of my 78 cherokee. What types of gas tanks fit best back there? How difficult of a job am i looking at here?

It can be easy if you find one of the dealer installed aux tanks that fit right up in that spot. You can use certain years of Bronco tanks as well as the rather spendy Aerotanks.

You can also look an the rear mounted, side fill van tanks. I found a perfect fit at a local pull-a-part (nice place, had all the tanks pulled and sitting inside the vans), was a mid 70's, GM hulk of some type. Was a perfect fit and I guestimated it to be about 26-28 gal. After fabricating my new exhaust it now will not fit very well but that was my fault for adding some additional clearance between the exhast and the frame.
