Aaron (JeepBountyHunter) and I were having a conversation about mirrors a couple of days ago and these bad boys came up...
anyone know if they're stock and if so what year/models you could expect to find them on?

I have that same style on my '80 Honcho but I don't think they are stock even though they look better than the ones in your picture. There are no other mirror mounting holes in either door.

Those are not stock. Ford had similar ones and there are many aftermarket versions of them.

Worst part is they sit too low. I have a set of GW doors with the power mirrors that I will be leaving on. My Gladiator had a set of west coast mirrors that were the best ever.

LOL! The mirrors on our J20 leave a lot to be desired. They are not original equipment. More like some Kmart specials... The drivers side is all pulled around in a funky configuration so the mirror will not flop around. Those doors have "issues" and plenty of bondo where there have been 2 or 3 different types of mirrors installed over the years. I have another set of doors and original equipment J20 stainless tripod mirrors I picked up a couple years ago that will be going on it some day.

Hmm...weird...those aren't exactly like what was on my first J10 (79 SB) but very similar...and my Dad bought it new in 80 from the dealer in Kenosha WI. And I checked with him last night, he said the mirrors that were on it are what came from the dealership. I inherited it in 90...I'll see if I can dig up a pic...

LIke I said before..from 79 and up you had either a remote operated non-electric or electric waggy style mirror, or the Tripod...
I prefer the Tripod myself.

Just went and scanned throught the readers rigs area...something close to 1/2 the J trucks from 79 on have that mirror on them...must have been a real common upgrade. They're probably what I'm going to put on mine...I'd like to find an older set though...the new/replacement ones are a little flimsy...
