I have a leak in the metal fuel line on the frame above the front axle. I am going to remove the metal part that has a leak and clamp on a new rubber line.
What is the outside diameter of the metal line? Is it 5/16"?
I just wanna be sure to get the right sized rubber line to make the mend.
TIA

I have done the same thing to my J20 near the return line into the gas tank. Be careful. The supply line on mine was 1/4" O.D. (metal) but the return line was bigger 3/8" (braided rubber). My suggestion would be to cut out a 1" long section and take to your local parts store and dry fit. Rubber fuel line is cheap, your time and frustration isn't.

On all FSJ's of that era that I've seen, the feed line is 5/16" and the return line is 1/4".
You can just slip an open-end wrench of either size over the tube; whichever fits snugly is the size.

Just buy a bunch of different size fuel line. Thats what I do :D Never know when you're gonna need some ;) Of course I forget I have it and go out and buy a bunch more when I need it again
