Well I think i'm looking for a winch. My Warn 9500i is in need of some work, and i'm thinking that I won't be having the time to get it fixed by the middle of next month when ill be going wheeling.
Sooooo, i'm looking for an inexpensive winch to get me buy until I get my Warn up and running again. If I get another winch, I guess ill just have to have one up front and one out back :D
Anyone know much about the smittybilt winches? Also, what weight would be about right for a waggy on 36's?
Thanks,
Bryan

Well I have a few days to rack my brain to decide if I want to buy the smittybilt XRC10 10k winch before the sale ends. Found it on 4wheelparts for $339 and $19.99 shipping. $359 for a winch, don't think I can complain. Then I can hit the trails Nov. 15th and worry about getting my warn fixed later on.

Not real sure. But the short story is that my jeep was stuck in a mud hole for 7 hours, winch under water.....never cleaned it and it sat for 2 years. I think the motor is shot or the solenoids are. I have since cleaned it all out and replaced a solenoid but it still won't work.

Love the Smitty - pop it open and it's just a T-Max inside...

I think I will be ordering the 10k before the sale ends. Still want to get my warn going, but for the mean time I think the smitty will do the trick.

I've rear some good stuff about the Smitty winches on Pirate. The general opinion of them seemed to be pretty good.
I'd buy one if I wanted a lighter duty winch.

Sounds like there is a chance the inside of the motor and/or gears got water in them and rusted. May have to completely tear it down.
*edit*
heres a place you can get replacement parts from, and they have ok exploded views. http://warnserviceparts.com/
Might be a little help.
