a little while ago i pulled out my filler neck and noticed that it had cracks all over the place. Every attempt at fixing it has failed. I tried plastic welding it, and gluing it w/ god knows how many different types of sealants and adhesives. I went to the dealer, and they said that part has been discontinued for quite a long time. All the wrecking yard ones are all at least as bad as mine. I was thinking about putting the later model metal one on there, but then i wont be able to smog it with out a cat(since one of the things they check is the size of the opening on the filler neck to see if it is big enough for an old leaded fuel nozzel). Any one know of where I can find a new, or at least, old one in good condition

Thanks

Tyson, definitely check out the classified sections of the forum, there are always a huge number of people parting their beasts out, might be an avenue worth checking. Also, I'va had tremendous luck with a salvage yard in CA that specializes in Jeeps."http://jwjeep.com/". They have always been a great provider for me.

Might want to try further North, like Seattle area. My thinking is that many plastics don't like the extreme sun and heat. These tend to speed up the aging process and break down the structure. They might have slightly longer life spans in a cool damp place. http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif
