I am parting out a 79 Cherokee and had a request for the tailgate shell. I can unbolt it but I have no idea how to remove the tension bars that make the door spring back up.
I remember taking these bars off of an old Ch*vy Impala with a huge trunk a long time ago. It involved a large pry bar, a small brain, and enough whip on the bars to nearly kill me. When I finally got it back together it never was the same.
So is there an easy, or at least a safe way to do this?
