Hey all,
My wife and I just got back from a little 1 week trip from Kentucky to West Virginia. We took the GW and the trailer. We only had rain one day and a cloudy day. The remaining days were blue bird sunny fall days. We drove about 1000 miles in total and visited 4 different parks. Pipestem, Watoga, Canaan Valley and Stonewall Jackson.
The GW did pretty good for most of the trip – I should have taken the J20 which is geared lower. We went up several grades on that were 9% and 3+ miles long. I remember on two of them that I had to go all the way down to low gear and had the accelerator pedal matted to the floor – not a pretty site – about 3,400 ft in elevation. It looks like I need to modify this engine a bit for towing. I would probably be better off putting in lower gears but I was trying to get the best of both worlds with a three speed auto tranny. I'll be posting an engine thread in the near future for some advice......

Here are a few pics.

I had several folks come through the campground and give us good comments about the combo. A lot of folks in WV have fond memories of their Wagoneers. I always heard "that was one of my most favorite vehicle - darn thing could go anywhere"!

Great looking pics. I'll bet it was a great time. I've decided I'm gonna look for an Airstream once the Wag is almost done.

This is either a great Paul Bunyan or Gulliver's travels imitation. Either you're 40 ft tall or those trees are 6 inches high. Awesome pics of the nature and the vehicle.

Just a little photoshop idea before I spend money on the paint. I'm gonna go with the old mopar sublime color which is just a bit less yellow than what I have in the pic.
