putting some WT axles in a NT chero with 3.31 gears. :D Nt axles are stock 2.73 gearing. I picked up a complete set of gears from another member on here but forgot the gearing. One of the ring gears has 41 11 stamped in it, would that be like 3.73? (divide the 41 by 11?) Would it be worth changing these gears? Never done and don't know how.

I was thinking of selling the NT axles with the 41 11 gears and extra rear axle shafts but should I try and get the gears swaped into the WT axles?

any thoughts?

Indeed, you have a set (well, two sets, really) of 3.73 gears.

I don't think the difference in gearing is enough to justify the cost of rebuilding the axles unless you are doing it anyway.

Not sure I'm following what your saying, but going from 2.73 to 3.73 would be a huge difference from 3.73 to 4.10 not really a big difference. If you decide to get rid of the 3.73s let me know

Find a place that sets up gears for either race vehicles or does tow truck repairs. They are typically experienced in setting up gears. Around here it'll cost you anywhere from $250 to $500 in labor costs to set up ring and pinions. It's something you need to do right, or you'll end up burning the gears up, or getting a constact clunking sound when accelerating from a stop.
