Hey guys, well I was just outside checking the 4-wheel drive setup and I noteced that the drivers side hub assembly isnt disengaging the axle shaft? Its in free mode and the axle shaft still spins. The driveshaft does not, not that I have noticed, but the drivers side axle shaft is engaged. I took the hub back apart and tried putting it back together and still nothing, its still engaged. The passenger side I jacked up to make sure it wasnt doing the same and its functioning properly.

So, with that said what can I do about this to correct it? I really am a bit lost and am unsure how to remedy this. Any ideas? I did notice that the drivers side hub isnt "clicking" or "popping" into place so to say when engaging it. The passengers side is working wonderfully! Thanks in advance guys

I would pull the locking hub and inspect it and the shaft splines. See if it moves freely and maybe put some good synthetic grease on it and the shaft. I'm not an expert on hubs but it seems like that would be the place to start.

if you have a open nuckle front end try putting a screwdriver in it [the u joint] to lock the axle down then try moving the wheel -- by hand only --if you used really heavy grease it can move the axle but not really be engaged

a bad bearing can also do this

Do you have the spring in the hub? Mine did the same thing and I later found out I didn't have a spring in that side that pops it out of gear. If you do have the spring, maybe it's worn out?
