That's my case for sure, I have a long To Do List just so I can get to work everyday...some of these are safety items, others just annoy the hell out of me...

drivers side window

drivers side door release spring

hole in heater core

leaks in firewall

quarterpanels NOX is going to kill me

dash lights

heater core control cable

exhaust pipe rattles

tierods, two to go

xfer case chain

couple of u-joints

remount swing-away tire carrier

ac clutch

spring bushings

rear window channel and guide rails

radio

ps gearbox leak

ac switch

roof rack well nuts
[/list]

I still enjoy the look of appreciation from other drivers when they see the old Wagoneer on the road.

Heh, you're assuming that the SJ is even running in the first place. :D

I am slowly working on all of my needed fixes. Right now, my starter is giving me fits but that's alright since half the windows are out right now. Once the windows are back in I'll start digging into the starter. Then, when it's running, I'll start worrying about the details, like a radio, working power seats, paint, headliner, interior lights, tires (I bought it with 3 different brands on it...), etc.

i feel your pain.i used to keep 2 going as daily drivers. lotta nights spent underneath one or another of them. my current project is y-pipe ectomy. spent yesterday pm working the nuts off the exhaust studs. backed one stud right out. i replaced it and the 4 nuts. ill actually replace the pipe this week end. Marina drove it down town. she said it wasnt really that loud.

I went through this! 4 years and 14 grand! I sold the truck, but I regret it every day. Know why?

Every time something needed to be fixed, it'd always cost about 500 bucks to do it. Well, the guy I sold it to spent 500 on it ONE time and now it's a brand new truck! Go figure, all mine needed was an intake and a new 4-barrel and the thing ran better than new! :(

We bought ours over a year ago. Had a lot of repairs done, including an engine rebuild. Our hopes were to make it a daily driver and sell the third car. Well, we still own the third car and are still making repairs. Now if would only pass emissions........

Got mine about 8 months ago... Lots of $$$ later. We are getting rid of the second car payment hopefully today. The wag will then be a daily driver. I will just take it one day at a time...

Huh...I didn't actually have to do one thing to the '90 GW for the 2 years I drove it. Just changed the oil with Mobil 1 evey 5000 miles, and thats that. Oh yeah...I did a tranny fluid and filter change, but that's just routine. I've always had great luck with my Jeeps. Now I got my '73...that's had and has a lot to be done for it to be up to snuff in my book. But still just routine stuff. smile.gif Hang in there...though the light may be dim, it's still at the end of the tunnel.

When I bought my '87 Wag, it was leaking from every place that could possibly come in contact with any type of fluid, the t-case was shot, the heat-riser was jimmy rigged, and I was looking at mucho, mucho repair bills, but then, I happily figured out that:

A. I will never be done with fixing the Jeep.
B. I will never have enough money to fix the Jeep

~and~

C. That I cared not about A&B, and just enjoy the heck outta my Jeep.

I got my rig's engine rebuilt, a new t-case, and a new heat-riser, and am currently going through the motions with trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with my rear window....

It's just a labor of love, keeping my Wag on the road has become almost as important as keeping my lawn nice and green
:D :D

Good Luck,

Noah

man, I guess I'm lucky, I've only stuck about $200 in it since I bought it a year and a half ago. lots of little things I'd like to get back to factory, but almost everything works, (EXCEPT THE RADIO   ).
I need new springs/bushings and shocks pretty bad and power steering pump leaks, but thats about it. knock on fake wood every day I drive it. smile.gif

I bought my rig 12 months 29 days ago. I have put 1000 bucks into it thus far in parts. Since I do all work myself (only exception being the exhuast)

And it runs great, although it does have 162k miles on it, and i got a lifter that will tap a bit on occasion. Butotherr then that I love it smile.gif

P.S. Its my daily driver smile.gif
