Off a '65 stepside J-3000 at our local pick a part. I was in my work truck and had VERY few tools, luckily I had a 7/16 wrench and a screw driver!

Already got it cleaned up and got a layer of paint on it, need another can to finish the job then it will be time to get it on the Jeep! Anyone know what hood latch setup ill need to use? I have one from a muscle grill truck, will that work for me?

Some people get realy lucky sometimes and others dont. I have been searching my local pick a part far ever it seems like for one of those or good stuff like it and always come up short . Thats great you found such a deal.

Any latch (for the most part) can be made to work.
The easiest way would be to use a late model cable release setup,
the cheapest way, would be to punch out the location meant for the rhino latch lever in your front radiator support, and weld a paddle lever to the release cross shaft (Pretty much what Jeep did)

Cool find. Is that hammered grey paint? I like the finish. And are you going to put the emblem back on?

I got one of them painted rhinos with badge for free in Moab a few years ago (w/o pie plates). They were getting ready to crush everything and just gave it to me.

Real nice score on yours!

I had a good purchase in Cortez earlier today. $15.02 to fill the Subaru w/$2.93 85 octane. :D

Hammered Dark bronze. I use it for almost everything now, its the new black, lol.

how did the bed look??? Didnt really get a great look at it, but I don't think there is to much cancer. I will take a look tomorrow.

Got the grill all painted up and bolted on. I need to make a bracket, or use a spacer for the top center bolt. But otherwise it looks great! I used a hood latch that I had laying around that works great. I didnt get the pie plates on yet, I need to either mount them at an angle, or add some metal for 2 screws to go into. But, its dark and the grill is on!! Just need to get headlights and headlight rings!
