I have some defroster issues and I've looked at the technical library, which has a broken link for the wiring diagram. I've also used the search feature. But I'm stuck on a couple things.

I need to know where the wires that attach to the window connect to. The passenger side wire on the window is completely missing. I don't see where it would connect if it was still there. I know where it connects on the window, just not where on the harness side.

The driver side still has the wire connected to the glass, it has a connector on the end and was hanging loose. I think I figured out where that one goes. There was a wire in the harness with a connector that looks like it goes to the window wire.

Also on the passenger side just to the left of the window mechanism is a box with some orange/violet wires going to it. There is a unused spade on that box, wondering if that spade is where the wire from the passenger side glass is supposed to connect to.

My switch is good, just need to figure out where the wires go in the back.

Thanks.

I have a Chilton's manual that has the wiring diagram. Trouble is, I don't have a way to scan it in. You can get it from Amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0801981441/qid=1004381656/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_15_2/104-2606860-5063905 for just over $13. It's not a bad book to have for reference.

positive wire should be by the relay on the right side of the regulator(its orange) the other should be where the licence plate light is, its black(ground) any more Qs?

(mine didnt come with defroster so i had to wire it in myself using dealer junk)

There should be two leads off of the glass, one coming off each side. These plug into connectors that originally were taped or wire-tied to the holes along the regulator arms, so they wouldn't get tangled.

The box you mention is the defroster element relay. It's a delay-type relay that automatically turns off juice to the defroster after ten minutes. They're not expensive to replace.

But if you don't have both leads from the defroster element itself, you can't complete the circuit anyway. I tried soldering the leads that were hanging off of my original tailgate glass. I ended up getting a new glass w/defroster element to make it work.
