Well two weeks ago while on vaction I was in Colorado picking up another Jeep [82 Cherokee WT] that had a bad transmission. I stopped by Flint and Krista for a short visit then slipped out of Colorado heading home.
All last week I had the Jeep on jacks and went to drain the tranny an only got about a half a tea cup [that less than half a coffee cup] of oil out of it. When ahead and dropped the pan and was looking at how clean it was in there and notice that the shifting lever that hooks to the control valve was bent and not moving the shifting rod in the valve. Lined it up and bent it back into place, replaced pan and filled it up with fluid, fired it up while it was still on jacks and you can guess the rest. I put the slector in D and yes the wheels turned the right way then put it in R and yes the wheel turned the other way:thumbsup: .
The Cherokee has about 40,000 mi on a rebuilt motor, and the tranny, T/C was rebuilt about 5,000mi on them [ must be why it was clean in there]. The inside has a Rino type liner sprayed in it and a new headliner and rubber floor mate and pad. There was several other new parts on it and NO rust.
I think this was a good deal:rolleyes: . Oh, did I tell you what I paid for it, I best not say since all of you had a chance to buy it.

So two nice solid wide track Cherokees escaped Colorado in the last year. Generation 1 & 2 Quadratracs too.
Glad to hear it was something simple Jerry!
That rocks. I can post pix if you want to email them to me.

 tell him Janie! ;)
I wanted to shoot pix when they came through, but we were busy stuffing axles and wheels under that Cherokee at sunset and pix did not fit in the agenda at the time. It is a very straight fairly unmolested Laredo.

You are more than likely right that I was there. I was just to busy getting parts off the trailer and parts back on before it got to dark.
But since Janie said her could buff that thing out maybe I should slip that Cherk down there for her to work on while her hubby and I set back and have us a couple of beers:D
