I bought this last week following a wreck that totaled my XJ. My plan is to fix it up and use it to tow my trail Jeep back and forth to the trail. It has 124,000 miles, is an 1988, and has a 360 V8. It needs an exhaust system, a headliner, and new seat covers. Brace yourselves because I have a thousand questions!

Thanx York.

The spot on the hood is a result of a backfire igniting the hood liner according to the PO. It also got the hood light and hood latch! The lift is a 4" (I think) and the tires measure out to be 32x10.5R16s. I drove roughly 250 miles to pick it up. The guy originaly wanted 3500 but came down to 3. My original plan was to show up and talk him down some more but, I really couldn't find enough wrong with it to haggle over :).

Welcome from Colorado!
Congrats on the acquisition! :fsj:

There has been a bunch of FSJs taken down by engine bay fires. You may want to look closely at the wiring harness that travels the passenger side of the motor to the starter relay and alternator. When we brought our J20 home last year it was pretty "normal" for a couple weeks and then one day I was walking in the front door when the starter kicked in and started turning over the motor. There was some melted wiring from a previous flame out.

You are just a short hop from Gilmer! I will add you to my call list for an FSJ trip to BMRA. :)

Congrats on the Wag. My previous Jeep was a built XJ as well, and as much as I liked it, wheeling in the Wag is a blast.
