Details:

These will be bolt on

DOM Tubing .120 wall

All ends capped and angled

I will have pricing -- projected to be about $325-350 -- and pictures on a narrowtrack soon.

Also, we are looking into adding an optional 1/4" plate on the bottom so they would technically be rock sliders as well and would keep from catching on other stuff as well.

Thanks!

Man it's about time! Those look great! Will they be powder coated?

We probably won't do powdercoating as there aren't any near us and when you break down fuel to get to one and time, etc, it probably wouldn't be worth it.

With our Cliffhanger bumpers, most people just take them to a local shop to get powdercoated...

Cool, time to start saving up. I was thinking of the skid plate my self. How about a couple of tabs to bolt to the rocker seam? Or are they stout enough on their own.

You don't want them bolted to the body. The body flexes differently than the frame.

Lol, I could have him make these out of stainless for you and you could spend the better part of a month polishing them??

Yes, we have set up to have a J-truck dropped off at our builders place soon so it should happen, as well as a Cliffhanger rear bumper for a J-truck as well.

how are they attached and how well can you stand on them for putting things on top of our rigs?

bolt on, will hold up just fine to standing on them. Also, if you wanted you could drop your gas tank and then weld them on depending on how hard-core you get off-road.

And before folks start getting up in arms, legally, you aren't suppose to weld to the frames (although welding on new spring mounts / shackle mounts / bumpers / winch supports / frame repair kits ALL involve welding onto the frame). I had brought this up a few years back on other slider posts, but just putting here for clarification. The point is that if you want to weld onto your frame, you should check your local / state laws regarding that, as if you have visual vehicle inspections / etc., it could be a sticking point.

Also, with regards to standing on these sliders, they WILL support the weight, but they don't stick out far enough to be considered a great stepping platform, FYI.

Yikes, I am going to send anything that needs polished to YOU, you polish so fast it would probably get caught in the time space continuum and I would have it back before I sent it. :D

Each step will have nine 3/8" bolts to hold them onto the frame, it should be plenty to hold them on and hold your (or anybody elses) weight.

? ? ?

Hmm, I am a little more concerned IF they will hold my whole FSJ up?

[ i.e. as I smash it down on a rock in Moab . . . that's going to happen ]

Have you tested them "on the rocks" yet ? They sure look great !

Silly question: Is the price for a PAIR (2) or just one side?

I know, pretty pointless to do just ONE side, but I have to ask...

Not rock tested yet but remember that ford commercial where they held the whole truck up with one bolt, each step has 9 of those.... They will hold up just fine.

FYI, I've had a similar set up on my old beigewag with the same bolts, same locations, and I dropped the rig HARD onto many boulders and it never even whimpered.

I am kind of curious about the drivers side frame. Maybe I am just not picturing this right in my head, but do you have to drop the fuel tank to get the nuts on that side?

Yes, you would need to drop the tank to bolt it on.
