Out of gas with 12 gal in tank!!!

The saga continues...Had my rig up on the emissions dyno and ran out of gas!!! Gague said 1/2 tank. Got it running and it would filled to the rim, it only took 8 gallons. The dyno was on an angle with the front end facing down at a 20 degree angle. It has ran out on me before with plenty of gas in it. Any suggestions?

The feed line may not be going all the way to the bottom of the tank. If I'm correct you have the long narrow tank, right? Wouldn't suprise me if the line is not angled enough maybe and will float on top of the gas after is goes down to a certain point. Maybe this only happens when the tank is at an angle...?

could eb that there's a lot of junk in the gas tank. that's the problem i had with mine.
