Shifting problems on my 72 wag

I have been having some problems getting 1st and rev in my 72 wag and recently I haven't been able to get 1st or rev at all. I've checked the linkage and this isn't the problem. I'm thinking it could be the remote control shaft in the steering column but I have no idea how to adjust or change this. Any ideas? Ken

I'm assuming this is a TH400.Does your Wag move at all when you put her in drive(if it's an auto)?TH400s 1st and reverse share the same gear sets(I mistakingly said in another post 1st and 3rd did).If it's an auto it might be a linkage problem but more than likely and internal problem.If it's a manual then may be just a linkage problem.

Oops, forgot to say it is manual. I've checked the linkage and am pretty sure that is not the problem. ken.
