Oil Pressure Problem??

I just installed my new engine a week ago at first my oil pressure was around 10 psi, I installed a mechanical gauge and my psi is 0...I got new ferrils (thinking that I over tightened them and my pressure was at 3 and then 0 I put a new electric guage and I still get 0...every time i take a sending unit off oil pours out for a few seconds...wouldnt that mean that my pump is working???? Any ides??

did you pack the pump with vasealone ??????

gsmikie is right, except for the 'vasealone' part...hehehe....When you rebuild an oil pump, you have to completely fill the oil pump housing and gear area with vasoline. This creates suction, and primes your pump. If you don't do this, it will not build pressure on subsequent starts. Tear it down, fill it, install a new gasket, and try again.
