ok i just got done driving about an hr , the first 15 mins, the gauge read about 15 psi. thelast 45 mins, it stayed at 0. no rise in temp, no funny noises cept the exaust falling apart.

so what could it be? bad sending unit? i just did the intake swap and nocked some sludge down into the oil. could it be cloging the sending unit?

my guess would be with the sending unit.sounds like it took a dump.but first make sure the wire is connected and clean.also make sure it didnt get pinched somewhere when you did the intake work.

with my sunbird, oil pressure dropped to 0 for about a week :D sender unit actually broke off when it flew over a jump. with the sort of off roading I'm sure you do, your sender probably either broke off, or the wire went bad someplace. Check the sender (I have a oil pressure sender socket if you need it) and if it looks bad replace it. That will probably get your gauge going again... if not, either the oil pump just sheered itself to chunks, or the gauge itself is gone.

BTW, the theory about sludge blocking the sender *could* happen, but I highly doubt it

no, i still have pressure sometimes. but the rest it leaves and stays at 0

maybe you did it from your doughnuts in a parking lot gone wrong, right officer.. ;)

strange... sounds like a Jeep Problem for sure. it's funny what shore's 87 will do. works sometimes, other times shoots up to MAX. I still think it's the sender or the wire to it. even if a blockage were in the way, it still should get presure to that sensor.

doing doughnuts didnt screw this up, it happened before.

There`s been a lot of post on oil pressure. On mine I replaced the timing cover, and got my oil pressure back. Do a search on oil pressure. Lots of good stuff. good luck

Hey DeLorean...why not list you cars in order of years....so we can see how the span really is... lol Nice Variety, it's good to live at home huh.. ;) all the driveway space you want..with a limit of owning 4 cars of your own ;) **** limt, why not 6-8 then you could have a fleet!

My pickup screen got caked up/clogged with sludge junk. The hotter the oil became, the lower the pressure.

I cleaned the pan, replaced the pickup screen, rebuilt the pump and all is fine now.

cow-catcher. For sakes throw a darn mechanical gauge on temporary and see if you actually have pressure. Then fiddle around with possible causes .
