Sadly, it retains the same pos tailgate/latching mechanism... which is the #1 reason to go with the J truck anyway...

I agree!! Oh to have barn doors out back. Why couldn't Jeep have put them on more than just those rare deliveries? Why couldn't some metal working master create a set to add on?

It kinda reminds me of the early Bronco with 1/2 cab or Scout with 1/2 cab--but of course bigger- like Big Bronco or early Blazer.

Hi all

Noticed you have found "The Chief" this guy lives in the town I'm in.

Watched the chief getting cut up, he though about it for a while (was trying to convince him not to) but she now looks awesome in the flesh and has had a new paint job will have to get some pics.


This guy is a jeep nut, in the family he currently has 2x CJ5's(one of these has a Nissan Diesel) 2xJK (one them of diesel) , 1X patriot, 1xXJ , 1x Honcho (401) , 1x Willys MB, 3x SJ's and probaly buying more as I write:thumbsup: .

They have a Jeep get together here every easter, they are currently trialing a free online magazine edition you all may want to look at it will give you an idea on how big the Jeep scene is down here!

I think they made a few wagons with barn doors, the ones with windows all the way through. If you find some, you can probably swap.:thumbsup: I've thought about it since my tailgate's more messed up than others.

Seen it here some time back. Still Impressive though.

I hope the inner wall on the tailgate is braced. Could use that and a layer of diamond plate to make it a working tailgate. The Waggy/Chero tailgates are weak in that area.
