Hey everyone, getting the 401 ready to fire up... anyone know where to find the best place for an ignition activated 12-volt source for the + end of the choke for the Holley Truck Avenger? (No comments on how Holley sucks, please! :D LOL)

i used the wire that went to the orig. choke on the old carb.

Run a wire from the small post nearest the battery cable on you starter solenoid.

I was thinking about using that original wire too... but unsure if it was a constant 12 volts while the engine is running? Also, they (some previous owner) had it spliced to some other wire (just as they had the oil pressure wire connected to an alternator terminal!

I think I'll try the solenoid trick, as this seems to be the easiest and cleanest way to go about this. Think 16 gauge wire will be okay?

Thanks for your help, everyone!

A choke probably doesn't draw much current. You'll probably be ok with a 16 gauge wire though I think I would use a 14...

I used the wire that originally went to the anti-diesel solenoid.
