Does that hood ornament ever get in your way. LOL:D Looks like a mighty find job, or is this another Honey Do job. Boy that chrome bumper does look better on there and it did on mine. Now when are you buying the Winch for her.

I'm still trying to get used to looking at that massive front bumper. I reckon it'd dent a deer pretty good. It really needs a winch to make it look functional.
But my artistic asthetics are having a hard time with the juxtaposition of the minimalistic powder coated rear bumper with the massive chrome front bumper. I think I'd like the bumpers to match.

I am glad I did not paint the rear bumper purple then.
I guess it needs to be at least silver so you are not too juxtapositionated... :D

That rear bumper mounting system is slick Tad! The hitch is also coming off for a lower profile receiver we pulled off one of the heeps last year. Had to loosen the pipes all up and spread the ends to miss the tow pounts below the crossmember. Will need to move the exhaust tips before we do the SF. Gonna tuck them up and inside the frame rails with turn downs by the hitch.
More will be revealed and also learning as we go. The front bumper is a beast and does need a winch. Not in the budget now though. If we polished it up, it would look brand new. Need to straighten out a slight bend on the right side yet.

Got a complete black 75 Wag headliner complete with the black rails, coat hangers, corner trim, visors w/cups and clip in today. It beats the heck out of the reupholstered custom junky one with mouse homes in it. Not even sharing pictures of that one.

A chrome hood bar, not perfect, but still kind of shiney.

Meh. I was out there stripping nasty carpet and power drilling resistant screws right along with him. I reckon I got more mouse poo and nest in my lungs than he did, at that.
Build your 401 yet?

Given the state of our finances/gas prices I may be wheeeling Moab in 09 with a pot or two of mums instead of a winch. :( But that'd be a hell of a look, so I might just go for it for giggles. Heck - I've never needed a winch yet.... so might as well mount some daisies!

My old 68 F250 was called "The Behemoth" because I had gone from a Samurai known as "The runt" to it. A lady I met said that the F250 needed a wreath of flowers hanging on the radiator to soften the image!

All this work is making me think I need to get out, and get something done to the big ugly.
I drove it, for the first time in about a month, friday night to the town fair. I didn't feel like fighting traffic so I drove it through a ditch and parked in a parking lot. It was a hoot to see the faces of people in amazement that the truck would do it, and make it look extremely easy. I didn't even have to put it in 4x4.

So what kind of seat are those??
I see a headrest !! We know those did not come with it! :)

I think the seats are from an Escort - they have been in it for a while. Stock black buckets are going in until we can get the Escort seats redone.

Gaaahhhhh! Coffee out the nose! That thar is funny! :D
Its nice to get some work done on the old girl. It's encouraging and depressing all at the same time. Tearing up that carpet was AWFUL! Awful nasty dirty grimy mouse poo-y moldy brittle musty stuff! Bleh! But, the rubber matting underneath is in primo shape and so far the bed looks clean and healthy under the mat. But, we're finding all sorts of spots that need fixed and welded and poked and prodded. Sigh. I am loathe to pull out the seats and start tearing out the carpet in the front. <shudder> I am expecting the worst...... :banghead: But she's been a great wheeler for me and Flint and was a great work horse and horse hauler for my dad. She deserves some TLC now.

Well, I was gonna change the whole door out to fix the broken window from a DA move I pulled in Ouray. :banghead: Turns out the rubber seal in the wing window was totally shot and half gone on the replacement and the door had a couple stress cracks in it. I have never changed door glass before, so whatahey. I can tell you it is a whole lot easier if you just pull everything out before you try to pull the wing window frame. Had to PB all the screws and bolts in both doors of course. Moral of the story, don't pull the glass up with a Leatherman...

In all fairness Flint was trying to pull the window up so I could open he door and to get out. When the window came off the track it set down on the door lock and would not let the door open he did have to do this every time we stopped for a break, it was either that or I was going to be spending the day doing my Duke's of hazard impression climbing in and out of the window.

It's OK. I really didn't like that window anyway. It had a bad attitude. ;) But I did feel bad for poor Charlie having to make the rest of that trail run through nasty cold rain with no window! He was a real trooper! It did make it easier for him to reach out and grab snowballs from the roof high snow drifts we were wheeling through tho! It was funny to hear all the adults giggling on the radio as they tried to pelt each others jeeps from the windows while trying to drive up the trail!
