on a good note, my cherokee runs, and drives...




...well, it will move forward about 20 feet, then back again... with a LOT of black smoke. i know that the black smoke means a rich condition. i could have sworn it had a diesel motor in it that was pulling a 10k trailer:eek:

on a bad note, that j10 that i did so much work on it now being disassembled, permenately(sp). i would rather it go the they scrapper with everything removed that is/was needed from it. here is a link to the page. http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showthread.php?t=90364





plans for the cherokee...

a new, and MUCH smaller carb, probably a 500ish cfm, what size should i run, i plan on keeping the motor stock for now.
putting the 33's off of the j10 back on the chero
fix tranny leak, as soon as i shut the truck off it dumps a quart of fluid on the ground.
rebuild tranny and transfercase out of the j10 to put in it.
put a small 4 inch lift on it
reapir rockerpanels and quarter panels.

the thing on the list are not in order, put are all things i plan on doing.

if its a 2 barrel then go with stock or a 500 holley. if a 4 barrel then I would go with a 600

it was a stock 4 barrel. will the 50 les make that much of a difference? this truck will be mainly highway, with some fun trips offroad:fsj: :thumbsup:

my girl is mad at me, we had our first date in the j10. we went mudding in it. so i told her that the cherokee would be funner. one it is faster, two it will throw more mud, and three, it has more room for a bigger radio.:D

it really is, ity has been sitting in my yard for the last two years not moving, or even trying to fire it up. i pored a little gas down it, hooked up the jumpers. waited about 3 minutes and gave it a crank. she fired up on the 2nd crank.:cool:
