I have a set of 37" BFG KM2's courtesy of BF Goodrich and the East Coast Invasion and I'm now looking for a set of 17" wheels. The tires are 37x12.5x17 and a 9"-11" wheel is recommended by the mfr. I can score a set of H2 wheels (re:on a tight budget) but they are only 8.5" wide. Just want to know what anyone else is running and how it works for them.
Thanks, JR

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think only the tire width(not height) matters in terms of mounting. And an 8" rim is actually ideal IMO for a 12.50", so the 8.5" will be fine.

I wouldn't get a 10" wide rim for 12.50's, I'd stay below that. Heck, I have 15" wide tires on a 9.75" wide rim. 8-9 would be fine.
I wish I was closer to you, I'm about to buy the exact same tires new for my DD. I'd pay you a pretty penny for them and you could go buy whatever size you want.

i think an 8.5 rim looks perfect on 12.50 tires.

Yes. Works well with a 13.5" wide tire, also.

Thanks for all the replies.
Now I have another problem that I forgot about. The backspacing on my current wheels is 4 1/2". I believe the backspacing on the H2 rims is 5 1/2" which will hit my drag link. The wheels are only 8.5" compared to 9.75" though. I need to test fit one before I commit to buying a set. :(

I am also running H2's on my J20 but I have a relatively small tire on it. No hitting at all.

The difference in width does not impact the backspacing. (You're thinking of offset.)
What diameter are the rims shown in the picture?

They're 16.5 x 9.75's. The H2 wheels should clear the tie rods but it's my homemade drag link arm that's going to be questionable. I keep forgetting that the 1 1/4" width difference has no effect on my clearance issue. Now, to find a H2 wheel to test fit.......

That would be perfect. I need to put my truck back together though. I'm in the middle of swapping to an S-10 steering box and a hydroboost setup for my brakes. This all came about from replacing the rag joint and greasing my borgeson steering shaft that was not telescoping as it should. I had all the parts already but needed an excuse to finally install it all. I'm hoping to have it finished and tested this weekend and then we can set up a meeting in the near future.
Thanks, JR
