HELP!!! gwamps blue pos won't stay running!

Ok so the get together was a bomb only Gwamp showed up but now he can't leave! We got him on the road last night and he got a whopping 14 miles out of town before the pile of fecal matter died! No other symptoms just up and died. we went and got my 77 to scavenge a dizzy as his was pretty loose got it in and it ran fine till it died. :mad: :mad: :mad: so anyone have any idea what this gremlin could be and how to kill him? it is a 75 waggy with a 360 performer intake and carb mild cam dual exhaust and Petronix ignition. Ignition module. When they get hot they just turn the engine off. let it cool and it will run again..then ban will stop. I have gone through 3 of these in my jeep. I am now switching to a points setiup, because its cheaper and more reliable.

Loose wire connection or a break in the primary ignition circuit wire. It could be intermittent. I had this problem and when I got it started, I just wiggled some conections until the motor died. I had a break in the wire at the dizzy connection. Pretty flimsy wire and it breaks easily.

Sounds like ignition module to me....let it cool for 15-20 minutes and it will run for another 1/2 hour then die..then let cool...run for 1/2 hour ...die....let coool..........

Thanks guys, we had figured the ign module was it but we just wanted some additional input. He just left and his pig is running better than it ever has so I guess we killed the gremlin...or at least sedated him for a bit smile.gif
