Still more to do, but I'm getting close. I completely wire brushed the frame and used the poor girls version of POR-15.

The body mounts were about toast. I was going to re-use them anyway, but someone told me to quit being such a cheapskate. Thanks Hon!;)

This material is actually the belts that get used on haybaler's. Traced em out and Bill brought home some center punches so I could pound the hole out in the center.

The bed is still in the paint shop. Should be done tomorrow. I haven't seen it yet. Keep your fingers crossed it'll match the cab.

This has been a long project ya'all. I'm ready to git er dun.

Hmmm...got enough of that haybaler belt left for another set of pads?

Good work :) I used that red can of rubber undercoating for the bottom of my bed. Worked okay, scratches easily though.

Looks real nice. I'm also interested in what the poor girls version of POR 15 is!? I've used Benjamin Moore IronClad alkyd enamel with good results.

i too found poor peoples por-15. its called "shipmates" rust gone metal prep. it was about $30 a gallon and the loacl baot supply place. i treated the floor of my wagon and did a coat of ace brand spray and its held for about a year and a half. and i still have 2/3 that bottle. its not a paint but on a good note it dosent have a shelf life.

Looks great Janie. I'm about to do the same with mine. By the way POR 15 is in NJ about 10 miles from me. I go there so often they guys give me better deals. I let them know that I use it on everything and they took some photos I had.

Bill took these pic's last night. They didn't come out very well and I about crapped when I saw the white glitter on the tailgate. Camera flash only....

Anyway, I'll be checking it out myself this evening. Yes, I did tell paint guy not to paint the interior portion of the bed, since I'll be herculining it. Just looking at these pic's and what Bill told me..........mistakes were made.

Paint guy and I have some unfinished business...........

Anyway, here it tis, looks like a match. We'll know for sure Saturday when we install it.

Looks good Janie. I cut up a large old heavy duty inner tube for pads. What did you use to de grease? Or maybe you didn't have to?
