anybody put any gauges in the dash speaker area? since that area is pretty unused (speaker long since died) I was thinking last night that it might be a good place to mount some extra gauges.

such as:

0-5k tach
trans temp
water temp
ampmeter
manifold vacuum
fuel pressure
oil pressure
o2 sensor (theres a cool thread going on this topic on the triumph tr-6 list)

and mount them so that they are somewhat flush with the surface put angled just abit to point back to you so you can see the gauges from the drivers seat. like these from autometer (3 pods @ $7)
http://www.autometer.com/hp/2001_catalog/accessories/accessories_art/2234_3244_large.jpg

and all analog gauges, black face

probably pretty easy to make a template from the wire mesh speaker grill...

how about puting them on the side molding the one that runs along the windshield on the side that way u dont have to worry about the sun melting the plastic

Thought about it.. but I actually like the idea of a CB speaker in there.. helps to here it better when the motor is roarin' :D

Most CB's have a speaker out jack on the back...it's works good .. did in in my old 79 K5
