I notice that my GW makes a ticking sound when I'm moving. I'm pretty sure its not coming from the engine because when I'm driving, I can shift to neutral and rev the engine and the ticking frequency stays the same. Could this be a bearing in the axle/axles? Any input is appreciated.

Could also be a rock in the tire tread. Do you have trim rings on the wheels??? These sometimes tick.

Mine made some weird noises when the front wheelbearings were going out. . Grab the top and bottom of tire and try and wiggle it with the front tires off the ground. Spin the tire and listen for grinding or rumbling. Mine made more of a clacking/clicking noise while driving.

if you have the stock Jeep locking hubs, they can go bad, and make a ratcheting/clicking noise from rubbing on the splined end of the axleshaft.
It took us forever to figure that one out

Had the same problem. On mine GW it turned out to be a loose center cap. Of course I had already spent a lot of time checking the things I was sure were causing it.

i had that very same problem...it was a roofing nail in my tire.

Mine just did that, right before the center cap fell off. Three small bolts hold them, so if they work loose, they rattle. If you have the caps, check them before getting more serious.

I had a hubcap one and it made a ratteling sound. Turned out that one of my hub bolts broke off and was moving around inside.
