Anybody know for sure? I know Tequilla is an early 79 model. So this date of 10-20-1978 does make sense.

yep. The build date and vin should be on the chassis in at least one or two places. The insurance adjusters & I believe certain police departments have a guide book for every make and model listing the locations.

Janie, makes sense to me, since yours is titled a 79, it has 78 style door catches...

Almost every OEM launches the next model year in late July. This is true of Jeep as well.

So, it make perfect sense that you "1979" was built in October of 1978. Volume production starts in August generally, so yours was 2 - 3 months into the model year run.

Good Day !

I think I remember seeing a date on my rear frame, behind the center bumper. Mine said "Dec 74" I believe. :)

Something similar to Janie's pic from my '72 J2K floating around.
It still exists in some form of the original fsjntechstuff area I had.
Janie knows what I am talking about.
I'll toss it up in another post, it's about to go down.

Wow! I don't think I've ever seen a frame rail that clean on a FSJ. All of mine have more rust on the glove box doors than that! I'm pretty sure all I would get looking for a stamping on any of my trucks is a stiff neck and blood shot eyes from all the rust that would fall in them.

I had to pencil rub a copy of mine for my reconstructed title. I believe it was just inside the rear wheelwell on the side of the frame.

So I wonder where I would find that on my '67 if it hasn't rusted off?
