Exhaust

Hello FSJ'ers,

Where can I get a new exhaust system, from the Y-pipe back, for my '87 GW? I
want to upgrade to High Flo cat and muffler, and also want to upgrade to 3"
diameter plumbing, again from the Y-pipe back.

i have a flowmaster with a y pipe after it that goes to duel exhaust the only thing is you lose your place to store your spare underneath it's a tight fit going over the axle too but it looks great sounds awsome..... if you make the tips go out the back and the window is down you get a little feedback when u get on it

I got the custom exhaust done at mienke it was 250.00

I have the same setup as slinkslot, except I had the pipes run out each side. It is very tight between the rear axle and the frame, but the shop did a great job of mandrel bending the pipes over the axle and leaving enough room for some flex. The exhaust pipe on the lft side (drvr side) runs behind my rear axle and exit behind the tire. This way it did not interfere w/the spare location and the exhaust doesn't roll into the back window.

My friend, who has an old Bronco, sugg the exhaust out the side for the specific reason of not going in the back window. Glad I followed his advise. In hind sight I may have gone w/one single 3" pipe out one side instead of two 2 1/4" pipes, even though I am very happy with my current exhaust. I did not put a high flow cat converter and am not sure how much of a difference this would have made. Good luck.
