The blades on a flex fan will straighten out so as they will not move air at high RPMs thus less drag on your belts and water pump ect. They also Move MORE air than conventional fans at LOW RPM as they have a more severe pitch on the fan blades, it is this blade pitch that changes with increased RPM. They are a very good fan, except if you hit water at high RPMs like I have been known to do I broke two flex fans and sent one through the hood so no more flex fans on my rig electric fan is the answer for me. I can not understand how my fan gets in the water HMMMMM I will have to check into this.

Used a flex fan in the past on various project vehicles. They seem to work great. Cheap too!!! http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

tucsonrick...flex fan operates like stated above but that's not why I'm posting here. How about a road trip down here to help me install my Rusty's 6" lift if I decide to get it? I'll come up to help you with yours too. http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/wink.gif
Crazy_Jeepman...I see you have a problem that I can help you with. http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif "Water getting into the fan". It has to be that your tire PSI is to low or your shocks are worn out or bad motor mounts or front bumper to heavy or missing a leaf from front leaf packs or rear end jacked up to high.
Now to fix the problem only cross rivers when the Smelt and Suckers are running. That way you can ride there backs and only get the bottom of your tires wet. If you fix all the things I mention above it won't do you a lick of good. http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hmmm..... irbob I like that maybe I could start a FSJ Smelt riding club up here in the UP. What happens if they quickly make a break for Lake Superior? I am sure I would get water in my fans as well as the other thread I answered the other day OBW (on board water)

tucsonrick...yea that little boy should be on the top of the list. The mountains can wait and pending any tree hugger action should be there for a long time. The local club is building new trails that are quit interesting.
Hummmm, 10 days old, does he know socket sizes yet? http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

You guys in Tucson have a lot of well known trails to 4wheel on. The Arizona Virtual Jeep Club has runs almost every weekend up there. az_vjc@yahoogroups.com The have mostly small Jeeps and do some serious 4wheel'n/rock crawl'n.
I have been out with the Cochise Range Riders and they are having there Summer Camp/Picnic July 20-22 in Patagonia, AZ Area.
