I weighed my 86 Grand today, along with my Travel Trailer. Surprisingly my Wagoneer is quite abit lighter than I expected. I weighed it with only installed equipment, my satellite radio, electric brake controller, OLD built in cell phone, and a full tank of gas. I took everything else, including me out to get an honest weight. I weighed in at only 4,580 lbs. 2,520 lbs front, 2,060 rear. So minus 120lbs of fuel the empty weight comes in at 4,460 lbs. I figured these things to be about 5,000lbs empty. It's actually pretty well balanced with a 55/45% split too.
Now my Travel Trailer on the other hand came in quite abit heavier than advertised at 4,600lbs!:banghead: That was with most my camping crap in it though. I'll have to weigh each item as I remove it to get a true empty weight.

I thought a stocker was fairly light for it's size. My 87 with roof rack, 35's and BJ's 6" lift was tipping scales at 4800.

Well they're amazingly close!:D My GW is bone stock though with the exception of my Satellite radio, Brake Controller, and Cell Phone, so it should match right up with out of the factory specs when it comes to weight.

It's funny though... my friend just bought a '71 Chevy Blazer and that thing feels light as heck. Turns out it only weighs around 3,700lbs! I guess most of the savings comes from the fiberglass top, but when you drive it, it still just feels "lighter" overall than my SJ...
Guess the Jeeps are just built better! :D :hide:
