Hello All,

I have located a beater '67 J truck about 125 miles or so from me. I am told it has the old Rambler/AMC 327 with a 4 speed manual and a 2 speed transfer case. Those are all the details the guy can tell me. He doesn't know what T-case, what trans etc. Does anyone know if the AMC/Rambler 327 bolt pattern is the same as the AMC 304-401 series engines. I want to do a trans/t-case swap and get rid of my TH400.

Thanks,
Dave

I hate to say it but they are not the same. I tried to do this a while back. I ended up swapping the engine as well.

Nope, different patterns. The trans is probably either a t-98 or t-18. The transfer case is most likely a Dana 20. But you can do the trans & transfer case swap if you find a 401 bellhousing that will mate to a T18 or T98, that shoundn't be to hard to find.

Thanks for the info. I completely forgot that the bell housing was a seperate part.
