strange tikking noise?

Im hearing a strange kinda tikking noise coming from underneath my waggy, im thinkin it might be a cracked flywheel. Ive seen em do that before. Has anyone else had that prob?

Did you check your exhaust for leaks ? A leaking exhaust gasket may sound like it's under the truck.

I have to agree with the others on the exhaust. My rig has a blown manifold gasget and it sounds like a tick from a valve or what not. I just have to get the courage up to pull the exhaust manifold to do the gasgets

--Wagman, I was getting a sound, such as you describe. I too, thought it was a manifold leak: right down there by our beloved #8-plug.
--To make a long, long story short, it turned out to be my air cleaner cover. Even though the wingnut was tourqued tight, there was a little rip in the gasket that goes around the cover: that rip in the gasket was creating the sound.
